I guess there’s a TNA PPV on Sunday so obviously the last post on here before then should be about Smackdown. Credit to me for actually remembering to tape it. It’s also been a whole week since One Night Stand, so I’m going to pass on commenting about it. I guess we’ll just say that I thought it was a good PPV and I didn’t hate traveling to watch it.

1) See, when Edge brags about ending the Undertaker’s career, that’s OK. The problem is the announcers and production team selling it. Just stop it. Besides the fact, how did the Undertaker not try to get the match turned into Tables, Ladders, and Caskets? Just saying, wouldn’t that have been cooler? I’m not sure exactly how the finish of that type of match would work, but it would have been cool to say.
2) Edge and Vicky are planning their wedding for the July 11th Smackdown. So, are we penciling in the Undertaker’s shocking return for that evening? Put another ruined wedding on his resume?
3) Am I the first one to call Palumbo “American Slashass”? I certainly hope so. It’s amazing that of the four interchangeable tag guys who came over from WCW that they managed to save the one guy who I really couldn’t care less about. He wasn’t even the best character out of the four.
4) Mark Henry. Again? Really?
5) With the Undertaker gone, who’s going to stop to The Great Khali?
6) Sweet Jesus… could the WWE get people to apply spray tan who actually know what they’re doing. Michael Cole looks completely ridiculous. Not only is he orange, but even on my shitty standard def TV I can see where his tan line ends at his hairline. For shit’s sake… you’re a company who airs five hours of television a week… get a professional tanner to travel around with you. Besides the fact: it’s LA. You’re telling me you couldn’t have found someone to do a better job than that?
7) Credit to Cousin Sal: handing in a five-star celeb match.
8) So, is this Diva Championship actually going to be a second women’s belt? Can we declare the fact that there are enough women in the federation to legitimately have two women’s belts “sad.” On top of that, can we declare the fact that we’re creating a new belt when I haven’t seen a US Title in two months “double sad”?
9) Batista’s partners, as selected by Vicki Guerrero, were Funaki (who I didn’t know was even in the federation anymore), Nunzio (who I thought was a referee), and Colin Delaney (who I thought I saw in a little league game yesterday). I’ll just go ahead and say that those three are at least as useful as Ryder, Hawkins, and Chavo and I’d certainly make that trade in fantasy wrestling.
10) The main event, which was essentially a joke match that saw Edge’s team beating the bejesus out of Batista’s team, went a bit too long. If you’re going to give me a half-hour main event, give me something good, at least… not Funaki getting the crap kicked out of him for ten minutes until he gets the hot tag to Batista.

I’ll go ahead and assume that Batista is Edge’s opponent for Night of Champions… unless Vicki tries to do something like put Edge against like… Nunzio or something. Good show. I need to be more careful about recording Smackdown. It’s a decent show… until they take everyone worthwhile to Raw in a few weeks.

For some reason what bugs me most about the new women’s title is the name. For the heavyweight and tag titles we have a World and a WWE version. But now we have a Diva Champion? As if the Knockouts title wasn’t bad enough.
Funaki needs way more tv time. Mainly just so I can hear his theme music more often.
