Sid Eudy

Don’t know about you guys, but I would absolutely kill to see Sid back in the WWE. He’s looking to be in great shape, and even if he had to go off the juice (if he’s on it), he’s still got a better look than almost anyone in the business. I freakin’ LOVED Sid’s promo on Jerry Lawler in Memphis last week. Sid mentioned in his shoot interview that he doesn’t need to scream during promos to be a heel, and this promo is the perfect example. Dude stumbles over a few words, but aside from that, I just LOVED this damn promo.

Hope all is well guys.

    Sid who? ;)

Normally, i would disagree, but maybe the E needs Sycho Sid in the
wake of all those injuries to top superstars. He’s already a 4
time world champion, so that gives him an air of legitimacy, and
knowing Vince, with his love of huge jakked up guys, there could
be a place in the upper-mid-card/lower main event area for him. On
the other hand though, I’ve never been a huge fan of Sid’s in ring
work, and it might be wiser then for the E to push its younger
    upper-mid-card stars.

When i first read this my first thought was also “Sid who??”…

I’d rather they push some younger guys.

BTW, who was that freaky as looking guy standing behind him when they first cut to him. Would not want to meet him in alley on a dark night.

Please tell me you’re joking, Ken. There are a million guys I’d rather see back than Sid.

But at least he’s still rocking the Steve Sanders hair.

It would be INTERESTING, especially when you throw in the idea of the angle he talks about in the interview I quoted here… I can see them starting out with a ‘where are they now?’ segment on RAW, etc., and building up the story, complete with footage of the injury on WWE.com, etc., but I donno.

Oh and I was kidding with the Sid who comment, although he looks trimmer, a bit better actually, here in this video vs. the last time I saw him.

Sid would be at least as credible as the last few challengers to Cena.

Stranger comebacks have happened- Bob Backlund, anyone?

  8. 8 s1rweeze

I guess it could work if they brought him in as Kennedy’s or Carlito’s “insurance policy”, a la HBK. And I would be curious if today’s marks remember who Sid is.

  9. 9 maclean

Hmm…that’s an interesting question: how much of the audience would remember Sid?

I don’t know that they’d have to, though; Sid would be fantastic as an insurance policy, kind of like Tomko is doing (very well actually) in TNA, or like Batista perfected a few years ago. He’s menacing, he’s got a great look, he can talk, and if they want to play up his history, he oozes credibility.

    Hey, to the TWB powers-that-be…

The comments about Sid made me think of a potential topic/experiment: ask very casual or even non-fans who they connotate with wrestling. I’m pretty much the only person into wrestling (that’s a stretch these days) around my place of employment, so out of curiosity, I asked a couple guys if they’d heard of Sid (Vicious, Justice or Psycho), and neither of them did… so I asked them who immediately came to mind when they thought of pro wrestling. One predictably said Hogan, but the other said… Razor Ramon?!? I thought that was interesting, and it might be interesting to get a few more people in on this as well.

For fun, I tried this on a non-wrestling fan, and he gave me the Harts (in general), the British Bulldog, and the Rock.

We do live in Calgary, and they all have local ties.

I don’t wanna play — everyone will just say “didn’t some guy just kill himself and his wife and kid?”

    Oh, and The Rock.

And they don’t need people to remember Sid. They have hours and hours of WWF and WCW video footage to package together.

  13. 13 s1rweeze

Boooo! I’ve only gotten that from one person so far (out of the five I’ve asked).

Some non-obvious answers I’ve gotten: Moondogs, British Bulldog(s), Bam Bam Bigelow, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Danny Davis (!)

  14. 14 maclean

The Moondogs? Really? Cool! s1rweeze, where do you live?

You see the video of Sid breaking his leg? Nasty!

When I think of wrestling I currently think of…Lash Leroux! Yeah, I know, how sad is that? It must be even sadder that I’m really excited about it too.

Anyone know how to get in touch with the Ragin’ Cajun?

i think it would be a good idea to bring back sid even if its just for a year. their actually
a few wrestler that i would like to see sid go up against like randy ortin, edge, may even
    batista.
