I think it’s kind’ve funny that RAW and SD always talk about how WWE has “no off-season” yet they pimp “season premieres” in order to conform to the beginning of the Fall TV season… nonetheless, post-SummerSlam is always really the beginning of a new “season” for WWE, as the Road to Wrestlemania unofficially begins… [...]
How can it be that no one in the IWC has posted a reaction as yet to the “Blue Monday” segment of the DIVAs search? No one registering shock or outrage? or approval? no Raw is porn type comments? Where have all the cowboys gone?
A better question would be was this segment work or [...]
“On one last note, I’m even sick of some of the fans of the Olympic Games. Canada isn’t doing well in these Olympics and the Canadian media is full of stories about how Canadian fans are really disappointed in our athlete’s performances. Some are just sad while others are claiming to be out right embarrassed [...]
It’s 4:45 on the East Coast, and sleep has not been my friend tonight. I guess I underestimated Starbucks’ effect on my sleep patterns, who knows. Anyway, I randomly grabbed a tape out of my closet, popped in the VCR, and tried to get some sleep.
The tape was Summerslam 1991.
People’s opinion on the match tends [...]
Ten Years Ago Today: Wrestling Got Extreme
0 Comments Published by Matthew August 27th, 2004 in ArchiveScherer’s commentary — along with a ton of other writers’ on the IWC — made me wonder what people think, in retrospect, of the 10-year anniversary of the formation of “ECW” as well all know it and love it … Should be interesting, also, to see what WWE has in store for the “Rise [...]

WWE has registered two new logos for Shawn Michaels, as well as a new logo for Evolution. There is talk that Shawn Michaels could be part of a new faction soon.
So, Evolution vs. “SALVATION”, maybe? If HBK does start up a new faction, it would make sense to go after Triple H [...]
It’s a question asked quite often by many wrestlers out there.
Usually its the big, burly wrestlers who ask the question–the one’s who like to throw their weight around in the ring. It comes out after some sort of physical domination of their opponent. Vader’s asked the question and so have Psycho Sid Vicious, Ahmed [...]
A couple of questions.
Everyone answer if you have time, as I’m curious:
1. When did you first start following the inside nature of wrestling, either online, through the Observer or Torch, or by calling the hotlines?
2. What were the first wrestling related web sites you frequented on a regular basis?
3. What now defunct wrestling website do [...]
Further proof that the Net is dead wrong on what the average, casual wrestling fan does and doesn’t want to see:
While RAW only did a 3.6 rating this week, the Kane/Lita wedding itself was a big ratings winner. The final full quarter hour of RAW did a 4.0 rating, and the overrun did a big [...]
“What’s going on Brother… I thought this thing was for life.”
0 Comments Published by Ken Anderson August 25th, 2004 in ArchiveHulk Hogan, on his t-shirt sales:
“I think in 1986 alone, I beat General Motors. I did a billion dollars in revenue, worldwide.”
Call me a pessimist, but somehow, I find it a bit hard to believe that the old Hulkster sold over fifty million t-shirts in one year.
